AFMC Exam 2017 –Introduction and Eligibility



Firstly we have to understand the meaning AFMC entrance exam? AFMC stand for Armed Forces Medical Colleges. It was established in Pune in 1948 for post graduation courses and for graduation in 1964 for MBBS. Armed force includes Indian Army, Indian Navy, and Air force. 

For taking admission in AFMC MBBS there are only 130 seats are available in that there 105 seats for boys & 25 seats for girls. The duration of MBBS course is four and half years. This year admission is based on the NEET exam result and which is conducted by the central board of secondary education. For taking admission in MBBS AFMC candidate fulfill the following criteria: Candidate should be of Indian, Candidate must be unmarried and marring during courses is not allowed, and candidates should be medically fit as per standard of Government of India & ministry defense.

Candidate must have passed the XII standard as a regular student. The age limit for applying the AFMC MBBS must be in between 17 years to 22 years. After declarations of NEET result by CBSE, AFMC Pune draws a list of candidates who are applied for AFMC. According to the merit of students who are shortlisted for interview will be displayed on the web-site sent them an email id. Once they log into the account they will find call letter. The shortlisted candidate on online registration they called for tests.

The subjects included in the test are English, Comprehension, Logic, and reasoning. The exam will be in the form of CBT (computer based test). It consists of 40 MCQ type questions each carries two marks. It means Paper is of total eighty marks. There is negative marking of 0.5 for each incorrect answer and time will be of half an hour.
The main AFMC MBBS paper is of total 200 marks and syllabus includes Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Intelligence, logic, reasoning, English and comprehension.  The exam paper timing is of two hours. The paper pattern is of multiple choice questions. Each correct answer carries one mark and it has negative marking also. 0.25 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
